I trained as a Person Centred/Humanistic Counsellor at the University of Brighton and qualified in 2000.
I am Professional Standards Authority Accredited Registered. I became an Accredited Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy in 2006 and have also trained as a Group facilitator and Couples/Relationship Counsellor.

I hold an Advanced Specialist Diploma in Relational Supervision  from Severn Talking Therapies.

My practice is integrative having its foundation in my Person Centred/Humanistic training and I offer a warm, empathic and safe space for you to explore the issues you bring to counselling. I offer both long term psychotherapy and short term Counselling, Couples Counselling, Groupwork and Supervision.

Since 2007 I have worked extensively with Employee Assistance Programmes and Insurance Companies providing short term counselling and using Solution Focused Brief Therapy,  CBT techniques and Psychological First Aid/Psychological Support for pre-trial witnesses and Critical Incidents. I also trained and worked at Cruse as a Bereavement Counsellor and in an Alcohol and Substance Use Service in Sussex and have many years experience of working with people with long-term illness and disability and their family carers.

Prior to becoming a full time counsellor I worked for 30 years in Third Sector Legal and Welfare Advice Agencies and Social Care Organisations as a Paralegal and Advocate, in a Firm of Solicitors and a Housing Association.  In these roles I have supported a wide range of people facing life changing events and circumstances. I also have extensive experience managing employees and volunteers and working alongside Statutory Sector partners to support service users to have a voice in service development.
I bring to counselling and supervision my wide and varied experience and insight into the situations that can impact on a person's wellbeing and health, and a respect for the human ability to work through adversity.  I feel  privileged to be able to work alongside my clients and support them to make new choices and achieve more fulfilling lives.
